Oh alright. I didn't get that from the OP.

You have some weird people in that city.

I didn't mention it, but maybe I should have.

St Louis has some weird people, but nothing like Portland, OR or Los Angeles. Not to mention NYC or the entire state of Florida.

St Louis is really a friendly city though. You can just walk up to about anyone and start talking to them and end up in a conversation.

    E.g.
There's a traffic guard at the construction zone entrance on my way into work who dances around with a big smile and greets everyone as she directs pedestrians and traffic. She's only been there since the semester started a few weeks ago. Her name is Danielle (sp?). I know because I've slowed down enough to thank her and to tell her that her positive energy is kinda an awesome way to start my work day. I asked her name at that time and now we greet each other properly in the morning. She's just a lady doing her job, but I know her name and she knows mine.

Never been to StL. It sounds great though. I've been to L.A. and yeah it is a bit out there.

One thing I miss about living in Canada and the U.S. is the propensity of every single person you run into to engage you in conversation. Here, if you try that people usually just look at you like you're nuts.
