Go to search keyword "range" or "ranges"; user "spoonitnow" be marveled and amazed by what you will find.

Can't really help you if we don't know what's wrong :/

Edit: Why don't you post some stats on yourself, might get "flamed", but what doesn't kill you...

I don't think I have ever seen you post a single hand asking for advice. I would start there.

    GL. And there is hope.

Dude you've obviously given it a good honest shot for gods sake. I mean after all look at that sample size. What else can a fella do? Sorry it didn't work out for ya!!!

Peeples don't reed good. He said he played 2377 hands in 1 week. He also said he's been playing since Nov. 2009.

PrvtBong, post hands here that you're confused by and you'll get some good advice. Also, now that you have PokerTracker, play another 10,000 hands and post your stats. That's a good place to start. Also, read the links posted above. GL

I was down to $24 when I found FTR. "Beating the micros is simple, not easy but simple." I'm not sure who wrote that but I know it was someone on FTR. Beating 2nl is the absolutely simplest thing a person do in their life. All you have to do is put a little effort onto figuring it out. Read the beginners digest, post hands here and quit bitching that you can't beat the game.

Post what stats you have so we can see what you're doing wrong. I bet there are some glaringly obv leaks in your vpip/pfr alone.

And get involved in your own threads for christ sake.

2NL is soft, if you've been consistently losing you have MAJOR leaks in your game. I recently starting playing again and started at 2NL, i've played 2500 hands roughly and am down $1.

So here's why i'm down, and why the game is soft.

I got AA all in preflop twice against low-mid pp's that hit sets on the river.

I had people chase flushes that hit.

I had people chase runner runner flushes that hit.

Here's some more why the game is soft

    people min bet.
people min bet strong hands that can be beaten by draws that hit.
people passively call on all streets with middle pairs
people check all the way to the river both when they hold a good hand, or nothing
people think that a J high flush on a 4 of the same suit board is good
some people think K10o is a preflop all in hand
    ...
    ...

    I could go on.

As was said before, its simple to beat, but not easy. Maybe you are tilting off chips when you've been sucked out on. Maybe you're playing too many hands and bleeding chips. Maybe you're trying to bluff calling stations. Maybe you're not letting go on missed flops with AK/AQ and MrFish is calling with 74o on a 48T board. Maybe you need to learn about pot odds? Maybe you need to realise that AK that made TPTK on the flop isnt that strong if there was 4-5 callers preflop..

PrvtBong - you should download Camtasia's free 30-day trial and make at least one video for us to review. Maybe after we give you advice you start making one or two more.

Post screenshots of your PokerTracker stats too. Start becoming annoying in the forum and just keep asking and begging for help.

Good place for a jumpstart to 2NL imo (it's free):
    Crush Online Holdem - Home
Download and watch the 101 video series. Play like him and you WILL beat 2NL, no sweat. It won't be fun or interesting poker, but you WILL beat 2NL, and it will drill some discipline into you, much needed for the higher stakes.

Then read all the beginner's digest and search for all the threads started by Spoonitnow. Read, understand and practice. Do your math religiously, because that's what the game is at the micro: math and probability.

You want to improve, work is involved. A lot of work. No way around it. No moaning and bitching. Your next post is fully expected to be pointed technical questions or hands that gave you difficulties. No bad beat story.

Aight watched the 101 videos. Switched over to full ring. And over the Last 500 hands did show a $4.43 profit so i guess tight is right. But how much differnt will this play style work on 6 max tables?
  21. #21
Shit you won over a 500 hand sample zomfg. You've cracked it bro. Play another 40 hands now and you'll be ready to move up.
  22. #22
6-max will be different. If you read up on the forum you'll see that you should open with a wider range for starters..

good job on showing a profit, but 500 hands is nothing. stick to full ring play tight and win over 20,000+ hands. It might be mind numbing, but posting a positive graph and having some money back in your account will do wonders for your confidence, and cementing the right way to approach the game

Stick to full ring for now, make sure you get into a winning habit there. Later, watch the 102 series which among others explains how to modify the 101 strategy for 6 max and 5-10NL.

As said above, stop reporting 500 hands samples. After playing 10k hands, post screenshots of your positional stats for review. Do not expect to continue winning at this rate. You WILL have break even and loosing stretches of hundreds or thousands of hands and horrendous bad beats and this is to be expected. It is the normal variance of the game, and a lot of patience is required to deal with this. If you can't handle it, move on. Also tilting is absolutely not allowed. If you tilt one stack out, you have to play average 1000+ hands to recover it. Think about that next time you want to make a marginal (or plain stupid) call/play.

Don't add too many tables too fast. This is tempting with such a tight style, but you will soon find yourself with too little time to think properly about your decisions, especially when you have to play 2-3 hands post flop at the same time.
