It has a lot more to do with the rarity. A 5 point buck is better than a 4 point because they're rarer. My BIL has been hunting bear for like two years and still hasn't gotten one. He really wants that bear. Somebody who killed a lion has a really rare trophy. I think that's the appeal. I think the idea that hunters are trying to feel big and strong and dominant is a straw man |

Another way of looking at it is that hunting is in our blood. We always wanted the biggest and best kill because it improves survival more than smaller kills. Modern day hunters subconsciously tap into a lot of those sentiments, and they strive for a big, bad kill |

WWZ isn't as bad as people say. It has coherent story structure and plot development, which is above the zombie average. It's not good like normal movies are good, but it's good if you really want to watch zombies |

Day Z (WWZ whatever Z the movie was named after) opens with the thickest depiction of a loving family I can recall off hand. I mean, they freely and lovingly touch each other over warming conversation minutes after waking up while the mother prepares a home-cooked breakfast on any old weekday. That shit is disgusting.

Making a weapon by hand and killing a lion with it serves functional purpose. I imagine its a great way to train nearly every survival skill and instinct we possess, or at least it was in the days when African tribes would do it.

The materials you wear are important, but I'd say, the way you wear your clothes is of the utmost importance. Layers, and interlocking your layers works wonders. Thermals on your legs, under your pants and tucking your bottom most torso layer (undershirt, etc.) into your thermals will change the way you feel about the winter months. Tucking thermals into socks, and wearing a jacket long enough to overlap the top of your pants brings on another degree of insulation. A top layer that can break the wind, and proper hand and head covering-- you're good to go. I've spent entire days working outside in sub 20°F weather like this, and I generally get too warm and have to unzip a bit to allow my body heat to vent.

so, fleetwood mac was apparently drama-drama. watched their life story or w/e the other day. i've always liked the band, at least their 1970's stuff. so, i've been listening to them all morning, cause i got a song stuck in my head and it's been there for a few days. but yeah, holy fuck drama.
