i knew it looked fucked up somehow. Laid is the past tense of lay, not lie. As in the chicken laid an egg. And lay is the past tense of lie. English is so messed...

and although "i lay in the sun" is grammatically correct, it sounds strange and is hardly used. "I was lying in the sun" is the std form imo.

Got pulled Saturday night (err 2:00 a.m. EST Sunday) for "making an abrupt exit" and got a 0.14 DWI

The cop fabricated a speeding ticket during the stop, off the fact I said "I thought this was a 65mph zone" when he asked me if I knew how fast I was going and come to find out he never actually caught me speeding.

My lawyer says our main case is a 4th amendment violation on top of a couple of other technicalities (gf wasn't allowed to drive down and witness or sign me out since she blew a 0.082, etc)

This is going to cost me 5K to go to trial and the lawyer says the officer probably won't get in serious trouble.

Read more about gastric emptying. Food has a lot to do with it. That said, carb heavy foods aren't the best thing to slow gastric emptying. That's why real men eat wings and ribs for dinner when drinking. Fat and Protein take far longer to digest.

Thanks Jyms, that was actually incredibly useful since my go to dinner while pre-gaming, and what not, is generally a pasta dish. I had always heard to eat a lot of carbs and starch to soak up the alcohol.

I actually looked into "gastric emptying" and the three main things that slow it down are fat/protein/fiber

I always though the bolded did the exact opposite. :/
