I'm dabbling in HU sngs (for like the 3rd time) and I'm playing the 6.25s turbos on stars. I'm running pretty hot atm, but I'm really liking my play as well. I bought Moshman's HU SNG book, and I think its a really good starting point for someone newer to them like you suggested a while back. Any plans on playing these again?
Anyways, welcome back again, glad to have another familiar face around again.
Found a way to treat it and minimize its effects. Since it's sinus stuffiness that triggers it, taking a daily dose of Claritin during allergy season is one way to avoid it. There are some therapy options that "fix" the problem, but only for the short term. But there's no solid definition of what "short term" will be. They can't tell me if the vertigo will return every month or if it will be 10 years of relief before I need the therapy/treatment again.
I may play some HU SnG's again. If I do, it will be on stars. I've experimented with FR and 6m at the 10nl, and I'm feeling pretty good atm. Just need a while to grind to get back to 25nl and above. I will probably dabble in some different things since different aspects of playing reinforce different skills that I used to take for granted but now find myself struggling to apply at the tables.
For example, I struggle to 4-table now w/ FR 10nl tables, when 5 or 6 6m tables used to be no problem. So single-tabling some HU will probably be one of the things I do to get my hand-reading skills back.
Just trying to take it easy and make no real specific goals for myself except to relearn pokerz.
Low key efforts have never been my speciality, but if we're going to succeed in the long term at pokerz, we non-pro-aspiring folks have to find ways to fit poker in around the other chores and duties we have. So I'm still working to find balance (no pun intended).
