Id let this go. without a crazy agro dynamic between you, I think you can make a nitty fold.

Ok so after 400 hands we should have some idea of his 4bet freq. It would be nice if we had notes on his sizing, too.

I wonder if he makes it this big with KK+.

You should have reads more specific reads on preflop agression and preflop dynamics, so that you don't have to much wonder about his range.

Regardless, we should have a good idea of what his range is, and it's pretty clear he's willing to get all the chips in and we're almost 150bb's deep, so this should be pretty clear. Is there any reason why you think he might be going bananas with JJ/AQ?

I just took the stats out of poker tracker afterwards during my review session. Cant use the HUD in cake poker.

So, the villain was pretty much unknown at the time of play. I didnt put him on a range, which was a beginner mistake. At the time, I just thought he was trying to steal and re-steal.

imo the bigger mistake is assuming an unknown is 4betting to resteal. You need better reads to make this assumption.

I'd probably pay this guy off here if he has us dominated, because I'm making the mistake of assuming a 4bet of this size is not KK+ as often as it would be had he 4bet smaller. But I'd pay him off once and then note his 4bet size so I'm getting better reads in future.

Larger 4bs just about always skew regs' 4b ranges toward KK+. Players know they can't make a mistake raising Aces TOO big, and they're not worried about committing themselves, and it's pretty much pounded into regs' heads to play KK+ straightforward. It almost sounds too 1st level to be true, but it bears itself out in reality.

I think this nails it. I just level myself into making the wrong move.

I think I'd find a fold here (it would depend on if I was tilting or not ) the utg player limp calling makes me think he's less likely to bluff.
