What's the point? People who don't believe he's dead will just say its a photoshop, or not really him. People who do believe he's dead don't need it. People are going to believe what they are going to believe regardless of what evidence is released.

However, your logic is a bit flawed. The absence of a rebuttal isn't really proof of anything.

I'm curious to know why, given the chance to take him into custody and gain a huge amount of intel on the rest of his organization, ST6 chose to just "break a hat on his bottom". Or whatever that colourful US phrase is.

I'm not sure that I would have done a cover up if captured. I prolly would have tied him to a stake and broadcast his execution across al jazeera like they did when they cut off that one dude's head. Of course that would have been after many 1000s of hours of interogation and posturing/gloating about the capture including condemning Pakistan for hiding him.

Obama Admin's plan is for them to leak at a later date. This is the most correct avenue. It allows them to take the calm and honorable road by not inciting aggression and such and not be connected to them when they come out.
