Example starting hands...and how to bet (corrections wanted)

I'm assumeing a .05/.10 NL table, and that I dont have much/any of a read on the players yet.



Raise 30c

Flop:

Have Top Pair, possible flush draw on the table.

Someone bets 50c, call or raise? ..if raise, how much?

Call 10c or 20c, no raise

Flop:

9's, and a Long Shot to both flush and to a straight.

Someone bets 20c, fold, call or raise? ..if raise, how much?

=============



Raise 30c

Flop:

KKK, but a posisble flush on the table.

Someone bets 50c, fold, call or raise? ..if raise, how much?

hand one=all in
hand two=fold
hand three= call and look for weakness or a paired card on the turn.

Hand 3, you've got a good shot at filling up. If you think they have a flush, play it like a draw that just *happens* be at any non-flush hand.

I would NOT fold in any of these cases. It doesn't look like they could have anything special that would put you at a major disadvantage. It's worth it to see the turn. You will probably know if you won or lost the had at that point.

The last hand you should raise because you want to see if they actually have the flush or are chasing/bluffing. I had a similar situation last night but the 3rd suited did not come out until the turn. But he did not raise big enough to make me believe he had it, so I reraised. He actaully called (no reraise) and the 4th suited did not come out, but surprise surprise my 4 of a kind was completed. I put him all in. He had Ace high. This is common on low limit tables. If it was higher stakes, I would have reconsidered. I was on a .25/.50 table and took about $30 on that one hand.

2: probably fold, unless you wanna try a kinda tricky risky play:

opp has the ace but may be worried about the straight. If a straightable card comes out, you might try to rep it. Only works because you do in fact have some outs if caught.

also, the bet is small (looks like 1/3 the pot?) which is strange. He might not be proud of his ace, and a raise right here could muck him.

Just possible plays. Safe, conservative move is to fold unless you have a good idea he'd fall for one of these (i.e. can lay down hands)

3: Raise 2 X his bet. If he's got the flush, he'll raise back and you do the math. You'll boat this damn near a third of the time, so it may be an easy call.

Hand 1: You have TPTK, no immediate straight possibly, but a flush draw is possible. Raise enough to not give odds to draw the flush, anywhere from pot to all-in. This depends on how many people are still in the hand. If you raise the pot and 4 people call (unlikely, but it could happen) then the next person to call would be getting proper odds to play for the flush. Sklansky says it this situation that it is ok that that next person is getting the correct odds to draw, since even though he is increasing his expected return, he is not taking it from you, he is taking it from the other players in the hand.

Hand 2: I would fold to a raise on this hand, unless the pot is quite large compared to the amount I would have to call.

Hand 3: Everybody above summed up this third hand perfectly. Re-Raise.

Hand two is a funny hand that I think is hard to say what´s "correct" or not. Folding, calling, raising, all of these action make sense in this situation I think. But it depends on the table and your opponents. And perhaps what mood you´re in. Feeling tight today? Fold. Wanna be tricky and gamble a little? Raise. Curious about the turn card? Call. Do what you like and play it according to the turn card.

it depends on your position of the 2nd hand. Early position just call late raise 3xbb.

First hand maybe a raise to .50 and KK raise of .50 or $1
