    Default FD semi bluff

    party 25nl

I've came across people like this ..maybe 4 times today

I bet with my TPPK, they woudl rasise my 2~3 to 5 or so.

I just pushed and they reluctantly call with their FD, surprisingly, 4 in a

    row I dodged flush.

is it just a coincedence or do you guys see decent amount of players that

    do this?

TPTK isn't that good in a NL25. Don't be afraid to lay it down facing a raise and or re-raise.

With 50xBB stacks? Got an open seat at your table? I'll make you feel real good about laying down top pair

People value their FDs too much. DOn't fall into that trap.

There are a million times where it is correct to push all in with a FD. I think most of those times is late in a tournament. WIth blinds a certain way and stacks a certain way.

As you handled it, good job. Glad to see you take those fish for every penny.
I don't know what they have to say
    It makes no difference anyway.
    Whatever it is...
    I'm against it.

I dont know about going all in with just the flush draw, unless you have at least one over on their cards/pairs. Reraising is fairly common, because their reraise on the flop is normally smaller than your bet on the turn would be. They get to see it through to the river cheaper.

But I do agree that FDs are overrated; I think this is because they show so many of them on TV now, and they only show the ones that do hit because they make the big pots.
Is that guy still part of the forum??

Going all-in with a flush draw is just silly. Its a 1/3 dog. Why risk all your chips on an unmade hand and 2/3 of the time you will lose. The only extra value you get is bullying people from the pot... If its flush draw with 2-overcards, then you are even money and maybe appropriate to go AI. Should you call the FD draw AI? I would generally say no with TPTK since theres alot of other hands that can beat you. I have found AI bets to work better with 2pair+

Theory of Poker discussed this somewhat....when you think your opponent is semi-bluffing it's usually best to still fold a marginal hand since if you're behind you're pretty much screwed if you call, but if you are right and they are on a strong draw you may still get sucked out on. Therefore it's pretty -EV to call even if you strongly suspect a semi-bluff (raising their semi-bluff is sometimes an effective choice however).

...in an small pot relative to the money behind. If the pot is over 30% of your stack then routinely laying down TPTK is costing you money.

I've also noticed tons of people betting draws and raising with draws on party NL 25.

Unless you know that the player betting/raising is solid, you just have to reraise or at least show down with TPTK in these games. These conclusions are based on playing at 6-max. At a 10-man I would think you have to be more willing to lay down TPTK.
