Because in airport security you go through the corridor they tell you to go through.
Edit: to be fair, though, i don't really understand where those photos were taken. It kinda looks like the corridor you go down to get on/off the plane, but there's no other people around. Also, like you say camera angles are different so it's prolly two different corridors. Haven't been to Gatwick for a long time though so can't say for sure it's not some other part of the airport, like security or w/e.
