I think it's fine. The Dems have made a career of identity politics and villainizing the competition. Inside their own echo chamber, they were cheered. When Obama was president, they were emboldened. But what they didn't realize was that they were creating a "silent majority".
The crazies on the left are gonna keep meme-ing Trump in all kinds of derogatory ways. The crazies on the right are gonna keep meme-ing the Dems in all kinds of derogatory ways. However, in the middle, are a hell of a lot of people who say "Just cause I'm white, doesn't mean I'm privileged" and "Just cause I want immigrants to come in legally, doesn't mean I'm racist" and "Just because I believe in meritocracy, doesn't mean I hate the poor" etc etc etc etc.
These people can't speak up. They can't present their side, no matter how many facts back it up. Their debate opponents don't want to debate. They won't accept reason. They only know how to cry "unfair", flex a sense of entitlement, and talk about how fucking great it is in Denmark even though 99% of them have never even been there.
So keep it up Dems. Keep feeding the crazies on your side while simultaneously alienating more and more independent thinkers. The silent majority grows, and when the voting booths open again, you will hear our voice.
