Barely fucks with your credit rating. I close all of mine. I'd have like 20+ if I didn't...plus if you close em and they run a similar promo and you are like a year out or something..you can do it again. You kinda have to close em if you do this forever or youll get denied just because you have so many open with a certain bank...and just overall...plus I will never pay an annual fee..90% of them are waived the first year so I always make sure to close em before that at the latest... | |

If you have a United account with even 1 mile you can do this....or a continental account that you transfer 1 mile to united. | |

I'm thinking about opening this up and just using it as my everyday card. Seems pretty nice. Service fees are kinda meh after the first year, but love the idea of banking flights for vacation all year long. | |

Well you don't have to keep the card to keep the miles. I always cancel before the service fee hits. Your mileage account is separate from the credit card though and they don't expire for 18 months. | |
