not necessarily. but in this case it is likely your opponent continues with a lot of worse Ax hands, KQ, small pairs etc. so you can get value pre+postflop as well as cbetting appropriate boards and getting "better" hands (which will usually be the small/mid pair part of his range) to fold. so in this case it's a mix of 3betting for value + gaining the initiative so we have more playability postflop. | |
