86s hits middle pair

Villain is 14/12 over 42 hands, seems to be a fairly straightforward tight reg.

This has been a leak in my game since forever. I feel totally lost when I catch some middle piece of the flop. Should I be betting out and trying to take it down just as if I'd missed entirely, or trying to get a showdown 'cause I have a tiny bit of value. It seems like I should be cbetting here as if I'd missed, as even though I have a bit of showdown value the chances of me getting there (while still having shreds of that said value) must be pretty damn low.

For sure bet this flop. I think it's a pretty standard fold if we're raised, unless we have reason to think villain is likely to take a check/raise/fold line with top pair on this flop against a button raiser. I'm not convinced myself, I think top pair probably calls.

In the event we're called, and he bets turns, I fold. If he calls flop then checks turn, I'll check turn for pot control and call most river bets, possibly making a small value bet if he checks river too.

Definitely bet. I wouldn't define it as a value bet though probably. However, I'd plan to obv barrel 8s 6s and hs on the turn as well as most over cards.
