What is villain #1's post-flop aggression like? Does he check/raise much? Unless you have some good reason to believe that he'll ever check the river with trips/boats/straights, I would bet river for max value. Something closer to pot-sized. Especially given his tendency to be paranoid and bluff-catch.

Hand #2, you're against 2 fish and way ahead of their range. I like betting bigger on the flop, and maybe about 2/3 on the turn. What sense is there in pot control when they're likely to call very wide?

I don't think any bet ott is for pot control at this point against MP2 and his short stack; we're going with our hand and the question is how to best extract value from the fish. I tend to notice fish call down much lighter and/or spazz out with their garbage hands facing smaller bets and when we shove the river he'll feel committed with whatever crap he called with.
