Villain was 18/7 over 117 hands.
His bet doesn't make any sense to me, because I can't think of any reasonable hand which improved on the turn. I think he would have reraised JJ either preflop or on the flop and I don't see him calling with AJ. But still, I felt pretty lost in this spot. Is this a fold?

He may have a mid PP.

You have A high, it might be best but building a pot w/ A high is not going to be profitable in ther long run.

Just c/f this flop 3 ways, it hits their ranges reasonably well and you're just not going to have sufficient equity when called or get 2 folds enough of the time for this to be profitable.

C-betting a good amount is def. profitable at lower stakes. Do not cbet this hand. C/f every street.

Actually`, right now, I c-bet almost every (95%) HU pot with a success rate of 59%. I know that c-betting every flop is probably really bad, but how do I distinguish betwenn a good and a bad flop for a c-bet?

I'd go as far as to say cbetting 100% of HU pots would be better than not cbetting at all.

At stakes where people are just playing fit or fold and playing a really wide range preflop, c betting 80% or so is totally fine. c-betting 100% is vastly superior to c betting 25% of the time. Just be careful in multiway pots especially where the flop is good for your opponents ranges, like this one.
