Good question.I guess being in position and the nature of the table was allowing me to bluff and take down the pot on the turn.

I can see being in this situation on the SB or BB and completing, and then this hand history would be standard. JTs I can see limping here for the equity in the multi-way pot and the fact we're in position, JTo is probably marginal but fine. Hmm... Where's that beginner's digest post...

Button (last to act)- ... If the pot is limped to you, limp behind with any hand with potential: 43s+, 54o+, 64s+, 97o+, 85s+, all suited aces, all suited kings.

Yep I guess it's just fine.

I prefer to raise JT on the button. Sure you usually want take it down right then but more times then not you can win the money with a c-bett if it's checked to you on the flop.

I think limping or calling have both their advantage here, depending on your style of play. But JT being offsuit, you loose the potential of flopping a flush draw and in rare cases a flop. But mostly I like to raise to take the pot down on the flop by a c-bet. Futhermore (I should even say firstly) you are in the button...HUGE advantage to steal the pot on the flop if they don't hit. You hit the J on the turn and it turned out good. But if you'd raised preflop, chances are that he could have been more inclined to fold on the flop or turn. In fact by calling you gave a free shot at the flop to the BB who in this spot can have anything. There's no flush or straight draws on board, so you may have gave him a free shot to hit split two pairs on the flop with something like 67o. So you could have ended up with only TPGK on the river, with a big raise on the villain...wondering what the hell is going on. So definitively raise.

It is true that the big pots don't come from those bluffing spots. But you'd be surprise how many small pots you can steal on the button with a c-bet even at 2NL on PokerStars. Of course if you have a calling station at the table it's not the play. But when you're at a table for exemple where the few real fishes have just busted out....your left with the nittys, they will fold often to your c-bet. If they call on the flop, you simply let it go because they're range is higher than yours. And also they will finally adapt to your play. But you can run for a while stealing flop pots. It is very player dependent.
