For a guy trying to learn the ropes, do you guys recommend Full Tilt or Poker Stars? I' m on Tilt right now, but if you guys say PS is way better, then I'll think of switching.
This is just my limited experience about both sites here but:
I find that Tilt is great for tourn play.... Especially the lower lever MTT's. My favorite tourn is the 3+.30 90 player knockout tourney. You start with double stack and plenty of players that will go all in with marginal hands at best. I have not had much luck in the cash games there. Poker Stars I have had good luck so far in cash games (which basically means I made up what I lost in the SnG's and am now back even)
Another thing I have been trying latley is to do the 4$ SnG or the 8$ MTT (18 players) on Tilt that wins the $26 token. (I like the $8 better because the top 5 get the token and 6th gets $10 where the $4 one 1st gets token and 2nd gets $6 I think)) Then I take that into the $24+2 90 player knockout. You get $4 for everyone you knock out so if you can knock out 2-3 players (even if you don't final table) you got your $4-8 buy in back (to start this process over again) plus 1st place takes $500+ and 9th takes like $45. It can be dangerous to your stack but profitable if done with discipline and patience. Keep in mind that this was going great when I was winning the token in like every tourney I play but just sucked my BR down when I would lose a few in a row.
There is also a $6 token torun 18 players where top 4 get token and 5th takes $10)
