Jyms, if I only I had listened the first six dozen times guys like you, fnord, spoon, spenda, renton, rilla, mcatdog, bbickes (and a zillion others) tried to tell me all that stuff...I'd be at 200nl now. If anyone's wondering, Jyms is right. Nothing I wrote is original. I've just changed sides of the ongoing BC discussion from the "excuses, excuses" side to the "I win at poker" side. Thanks to FTR regs like Jyms, mostly.

You may be right that these specific skills are enough to beat those specific levels, but I worry that following this step-by-step can easily lead to the forming of bad habits that will require a complete overhaul when moving up.
I would worry about that, too. I guess I'm saying those are the things I learned BEST at each level, not giving a "how to learn" path. We should all work on all relevant aspects of our game at whatever level we're playing.

My "learning curve" isn't suggesting that's the way people should try to learn poker. It's an example of how neatly "step-by-step" most folks' learning will be if they simply walk up through the levels, learning to beat each one along the way. I think each person's learning curve will be a bit different, but the progress will be similarly steady and (when they get to 25nl) will have them playing a pretty well-rounded game.
