Default How do you track your results - cheaply.

I don't want to spend money on PT, and I don't use cracked software. I play on PP. I tried the spread sheet approach... doesn't work. I usually start one table cash and one SNG, and then add to my hearts content... regular and speed tables mixed, so I don't know how many H/hr I get.... so all I know is how much I made in one session in what time, which doesn't say much.

So are there any scripts or freeware programs I can use? I'd like to be able to say "I'm xpt...whatever/100 like the pr0z

Wohoo! I just noticed PT has a trial version... importing over one year of play as we speak
I can't wait to see that graph... lol

    haha

anways you can get pokeroffice at www.pokeroffice.com
they have a good deal in which you can get it for free if you deposited 50$ at one of the sponsorred sites (I think stars, FTP an Party are all part of it) and have played a set ammount of raked hands or earned a set ammount of FPP's.

It's what I used before I started seriously investing in poker and it actually has everything you need including a HUD.
My blog/operation where ill gladly discuss all my poker thoughts/hands etc, all welcome: http://www.flopturnriver.com/pokerfo...os-192003.html

before you do this, investigate to find out if by signing up like this you are forfeiting your rakeback at the given site. this is of utsmost importance, much more important than any free software you may get.

I'll look into that. Somehow I always thought it was a scam. Why would I get my rake back if I sign up through a 3rd party site?

well i signed up through PS, and since they don't have rakeback I didn't lose anything and i'm guessing it's the same with other sites... but I could be wrong

The PT demo isn't very convincing. It imported, but a lot of hands said "invalid, wrong pot size"
Then it said I'm a 150$ looser overall, and I only played one session. Which is quite an accomplishment with a single 25$ deposit over a year ago.
Out of curiosity I tried the poker hud thingy... I had no idea what it sais, but I figured the $ amount to the right was good, so I was a little offended when it said "-2$" after two hands. After two orbits it was "+49$", so I quit. Can only get worse, right.

Again, the review of the session said it was hugely -EV - I only doubled up in like 5 minutes.
Now I started the import scan again...

    whoops, looks like it crashed.

    I'll look into Poker Office

LoL. Try Holdem Manager - they have fully functional trial version. It takes a bit to get it set up, but it's very intuitive afterward. They also have a "small stakes" version (which includes a good HUD) for only $55 which you can upgrade if you need to play 100nl and above - upgrade is $25.

But the cheapest way to track your results to get a legal pad, set it by the computer, and copy stats from each table right out of your poker site's stats popup. That plus a calculator and some 4th grade math will get you a good idea of your winrate. You can automate it with a spreadsheet, if you like those.

Ok, I just figured out I had to filter my player name, and then I get the right stats.
Well... the monthly result graph shows I'm down 20$ if I read it correctly, but I'm up 80$

    edit:
It shows that I've lost 104 sng's straight. I did not know I ran this bad.

Poker tracker can't automatically get the SNG results, so it notes how many you've entered and at what buyins, but not which ones you've won and for how much. You'll have to input your SNG results manually. There's also a feature on some sites where you request you history as an email, and I think PT can handle those.

    QFT

I ended up having to bail on UB because I'd got my PokerTracker free back in the day, so they wouldn't let me sign up for RB. Even at my low level of play, I did the math and it was costing me > $200/month on average.... not really worth it for the $89 I saved two years ago for PT

I'll run the PT trial as long as it lasts... is there a way to switch off the HUD? this thing just distracts me, it blocked me from getting to my player notes to display me some stats that it accumulated in the last 3 hands... and I wouldn't know what it means anyway.

I think I'll go with the pen and paper approach on the side. I tried open-office spreadsheets, but making an entry every time you open a new table didn't work... I forgot half of the time, so it was pretty useless.
