    When posters talk about their/villains image the use x/y/z. What do these mean and do they come from a system like PokerAce HUD.(which I am vaguely familiar with)

    x = % voluntary put $$ into pot, indicates a players preflop habit, how many flops do they take, how wide or tight ranges do they play

    y = % preflop raise, how many hands does he raise before the flop

    z = total aggression factor, calculated as times bet + times raised/ times called, indicates how aggressive villain plays postflop.

    Stats are pulled out of pokersoftware tools like pokertracker, pokeroffice, holdem manager and others.

    Yes they come from software like pokertracker or a HUD which reads from PT's database & displayes players' stats on the table.

    in x/y/z,
    x = voluntarily put in pot preflop
    y = preflop raise %
    z = aggression factor = aggression / passivity = (bet+raise) / call

    Just quickly, stats like 14/10/3 are typical TAGG (tight-aggressive). They bet/raise preflop 10% of the time and play 14% of their hands total.

    For aggression, it seems that AF = 2 is about neutral. AF < 2 is passive, with AF's like 0.8 to 1.2 being classic "calling stations." AF's between and 2 and 3 are typical aggressive players who generally bet/raise their good hands and fold their bad ones. AF > 3 generally mean villains likes cbetting, semi-bluffing and outright bluffing. AF > 5 often means maniac agro postflop.

    Stats like 40/3/1.4 are pretty typical at the micros, loose-passive preflop and generally weak-tight postflop.

    Solid players tend to raise at least half to 2/3's of their opening hands, so stats like 18/12 and 15/7 mean they probably have a coupe working brain cells.

    Hope this helps.
