    Default Multi-tabling

Although Im far from playing this way im curious as to how this is done properly.
Do you enlarge your resolution and place 4 screens in each corner or just continously alt-tab between tables?
Is multitabling only done by limit players or can NL players succeed as well? (How many for limit and how many for NL)
And just your thoughts on when to begin playing more than one table.

    Steve.

It is preferable to not have any overlap on your screen when multitabling, so running at 1600x1200 is what most people do. At party you can resize your tables so when you dont have a monitor that supports as high resolutions you can still multitable with no overlap.

Multitabling is done by players of almost all forms of poker except for those like stud, etc. where there are simply too many things to remember. I currently play 8 tables when I am able to devote my full attention to the game and it isnt too bad when you get sued to it. For somebody who is just starting out, wait until you are a consistent winner at 1 table and then just slowly start adding more as you become comfortable.

    My setup: http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/678...alsetup0es.jpg

PartyPoker makes it easy with there re-sizeable windows also the fact of having a simple table and cards makes it easier as well.

The max I can run is 1280 x 1024. When I run 3 tables, I try to pick tables (along with other selection objectives) such that I can see my cards even tho the screens overlap. It would be nice to see each table completely but not possible on my setup. No problems since moving from 2 to 3 tables last month.

Happy, It's actually not as hard as you think. Especially if you are a tight preflop player. Look at the image again. See how many tables Pwnasaurous is playing at that time. He has obviously just bought in not to long ago but still, He has no hands on the go at the time he took this. That might be rare for eight tables but starting with 3 or 4 even, You won't be playing all the tabl;es at once. That's why I can handle a little overlap on my 17" 1280x1040. Try two or three, play 19 hands and you'll see it's easier to actually let bad hands go when you are playing a good hand on another table.

I play PokerStars 8-tabling. All tables overlap eachother, so I can only see one table at a time. I have little to no reads, but much success.

It's playing the cards, rather than playing the player.

On pokerstars it is no effort at all, the table that needs action pops up on it's own.

The good part is that I HATE huge screen resolutions with everything tiny ( I have bad eyes lol), so this way I am always looking the table as large as possible. . .

But, the very bad thing is that this way your fold butoons are in exactly the same place, so sometimes just before the click, a different table! Bam folded AA. . .

It is really not a problem at 2 or 3 tables, but I do think if I wanted to try 8 this would start being a problem, then I would set the resolution higher.

Other than that, I play a lot of SNGs and no one mentioned stagger your starts so you don't wind up 2 or 3 handed in more than 1 SNG too often.

When is PokerStars suppose to get resizeable tables? I e-mailed them twice about it with no response, anyone know?

I got to 2 tables pretty quickly, but by the death of me I couldn't move beyond that. I got headaches almost instantly. But a little while ago I managed to move up to 3. Dunno how.. I just put each table in a definite space where I can see each one so that I'm able to keep track of each table in one location. I place them in such a manner that I can see my hole cards in all three tables at once.

I think I can probably move up to 4 tables, but due to exams I haven't been playing much if at all, so that'll be for later.

And I just discovered, inspired by this thread, that I can switch the table size to become smaller on prima. Lol! Ok that's gonna help in the future.. with mini-view I can probably fit a whole bunch of em on my laptop screen. Nice!

I 4 table on a laptop. I have one in each corner, but they have to overlap. If I'm lucky I can still see either the action buttons or my cards with every table up. If not I just minimise the tables and they pop up when they require action, or have one or two visible always and the others minimised. I would much prefer to be able to see all tables though.

Multitabling is about being a tight preflop player. If you fold >80% of hands preflop, each table is mostly downtime.
