You should have reraised to at least $6 preflop. Joe-Joe-Idiot-Boy would have been long gone. OFTEN players on the button will call with relative garbage and try to get lucky.

I lost a similar play the other night when I raised 5x blinds and the guy on the button called with a small pair and tripped....but what's new?
