General 50 NL question

Talking from 10 NL to 50 NL

Currently I'm playing 10 NL (.5/.10) and im beating it at a little over 5 BB after about a 10,000 hand sample. If I keep this up for another 10,000 or so, I want to work my way up to 50 NL (.25/.50). I've seen a lotttt of players crush 10 NL and then go to 50 NL and can't win. My question is for anyone that has played both and can give me some of their thoughts on what major adjustments I must be ready to make in order to be profitable. Obviously, as I move up I expect players to be generally more competent and discipline, but I'm hoping for some more detailed explanations. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yea you guys are right I will go through 25 NL before 50 NL. But I'd still like to hear what the main differences in play are in your opinion. From all the info i've looked at, it seems like 50 NL is when successful 10 and 25 NL players start losing.

umm I usually wouldn't answer a question like this cuz it's so obvious. Also my original post was much longer but resulted in a lot of stuff starting with "think" so....
    1) Think

pretty simple, something loads of people don't do or do incorrectly

Certainly it can't be that obvious if many people excel at 10 and 25 NL and then fail at 50 NL. But thank you for your input I will be sure to "think" when I play 50 NL

50NL = Less limping, more positionally aware villains, more preflop aggression (3 betting etc) less passive post flop play, higher regs to fish ratio, nitty or cock waving idiot regs that is for the most part.

Basically it's just tougher. There isn't a magic secret to beating 50Nl having beaten 10NL, it's just a case of improving your game by posting hands, reviewing your play and yeah thinking about more stuff.

Umm wait until the heater is over and you go through some stages of variance, you get totally disgusted in yourself, go busto etc then we'll talk about 50nl and the WSOP etc!

Mainly it's that at 10NL people haven't learned to fold yet, and you make most of your money just value betting them to death and not really bluffing much. At 50NL most players have already learned that folding a lot is superior to calling a lot, so you make a lot of your money from stealing pots.

When I moved up from 10NL to 50NL (I actually skipped 25NL) in 08 I went from playing 13/4 to playing 25/18 @FR with a huge AF. That was me overadjusting and generally not knowing much about poker... but you get the picture.

While the players are generally better at 50nl, it's not a night and day difference. People don't have to be good to play 50 (or higher); they only need to have a bit more money to play with - and it's not like anyone has to be wealthy to play 50. So you'll still find mediocre and poor players, just not as many and maybe not quite as poor.
