Figuring in the Math of the game.

I've been looking on this site and on other Poker Sites to look up Percentages and the Math of Poker. For example when I watch a Poker Video on You Tube like High Stakes or Poker After Dark if there is more than two players in tha hand and the Percanteges pop up on the screen to show who has the lead and so on how is all that figured and how do need to work it into my game?? I know that this isn't a good site to play on but I've been on Facebook playing Zynga Poker and WPT Texas Hold Em Poker and in the past few days I've hand like a Pocket Pair or some type of Strait draw but I've folded and my card has come. Can someone please help me figure out the math as to what Odds I have to either make the call or help me to know if I should fold. Sorry for being a PIA but I really wanna get this and Math really was never one of my stronger subjects and I know it plays a big part in the game. Once again any and all help is greatly appreciated. I wasn't good at Math until I got into college and got Tutoring. Thanks for the help how do I calculate Pot Odds Vs Hand Odds? When I'm not under a time restriction and I have time to think I do pretty good at calculating but when I have to count on time I make rushed decisions. Can anyone help this moron??

On poker shows, they derive the percentages because they know each player's hole cards and such, and can calculate the likelihood of each hand ending up a winner in a straightforward manner.

You will "incorporate these percentages into your game" by putting your villain on a range of hands (and not just a single hand) and then calculating the equity your hand has against that range. Knowing our equity against a range may help us make some reactionary decisions, like whether to call an all-in (see spoon's links) for example.

How we go about putting our opponent on a range and how we use this information is another matter entirely, and probably more essential to our play in general.

I would suggest buying and reading Theory of Poker by David Sklansky before going much further. If you get through that without much trouble, get No Limit Hold'Em Theory and Practise by the same author. Take lots of notes. And, LDO, read through all of the articles in the "BC Digest" post at the top of this forum.
