Can someone help me interpret these PT stats?

Hello all....

This is an awesome resource. Hopefully soem of you winning players can help me improve my game.

I've been using PT3 and I've gotten a 15K hand sample on myself since I got it. I'm starting to use it to shore up leaks and I was hoping that someone could check out the summary stats below and tell me what's good and what's not so good.

The stats below are from all microstakes cash games on stars, from $01./$0.02 up to $0.25/$0.50. The lion's share (about 11k hands) of the stats come from $0.10/$0.20 (6max) and $0.25/$0.50 (6max).

I think I know poker basics pretty well but then, again, everyone thinks they are "pretty good", right?

Can anyone make some suggestions on what to improve to become profitable?

Ok first impression from these are that you are too loose/passive.

The difference between your pfr and vpip is pretty big indicating you're not being aggressive enough from the button and cutoff (in position) and probably too loose oop. Seems a leak you may have is over defending your blinds from your fold to steal stats. You're probably spewing chips by taking passvie lines with marginal hands oop from the blinds.

IMO you're att to steal is WAY too low for 6 max! This shuld be at least 25. You need to losen up in positon and stop calling so many raises pre flop or limping if that's what your doing.

You seem to go to showdown too much and this will cost you money over the long run. Your W$AS seems to show you are on a heater and I don't think this is sustainable over time given how loose you are.

Finally your aggression factor is on the passive side, thats reflected through the rest of the stats also.

So in summary my advice would be.

1. Raise a lot more pre flop in position to take the blinds
2. C bet a lot of flops when you do this.
3. Don't overdefend blinds or limp in position - try to make the vpip and pfr closer together.
4. Fold a lot more to 3 bets. Calling them light will cost you over the long run, especially if you are taking passive lines post flop.

I'm no expert, just my take on things sicne I also play 20NL 6 max. Also 15k isn't huge, some of your stas may not be 100% accurate yet.

You're a calling station judging from some of these stats. There IS a bet/raise button next to the call, just in case you didn't know.

Also, PF, raise more, call less. You should get it down to something 21/18 or 22/18. Obviously, that won't be optimum for everyone, but it's a starting point.

You are only folding to 30% (calling 70%) of the 3-bets against you, which is just retarded. You definitely need to get that up quite a bit higher.

Stop being such a nit on the button and cut off. Use those positions to your advantage to open up a wider range.

When you're out of position, only open the top of your range. At the micro's very few/no one will notice what you are opening and where, so use it to your advantage.

Suggestion: Go look at some of the 6-max guides under the poker strategy tab, those will give you a solid starting foundation.

The first thing that jumps out at me here is the disparity between vp$ip and pfr, but that's been covered. The second thing is that these stats look like a winning player in a casino $1/$2 game. When you have a physical read on a player, you can play more passively and still make a profit while minimizing your losses. Online, we have to play much more aggressively because of the lack of information. It seems counter-intuitive, but that's true of almost every important poker lesson we ever learn.

wolfmix, since you're new here (hopefully you've done a bunch of reading and know this already), let me just say it's essential on this site to swallow any pride when you ask for advice.
there are many GREAT players on this site and they will give you winning advice, usually couched in some in-your-face/u-suxor speak. disregard anything that comes off as offensive and listen to the reasoning and strategy behind what's said, and you WILL find success.
About your stats, obviously you've had some success which is great. But it's great that you're still exploring the ways to improve your game.
