Default Why does 200nl make me nervous?

I've recently moved up to 200nl and for the first time ever moving up is making me kind of nervous while I'm playing. It's not really fear like scared money or whatever, and I really don't *think* it's affecting my play, but seriously wtf?

I don't think it's about the money, but more like omg what if I suck?

you just arent used to it. As long as youre rolled ok just get some experience there and the fear will go away. I had it the first few times I played 100NL. Now im ok with it. I think it happens when you look at the money youre throwing around and start to think about what you could buy with it. Experience = desensitization.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

One interesting thing I have found is that when playing the $100NL tables, the pots are much smaller. I don't mean by $$ amounts since it's $100NL vs $200NL, but by BB's. With more action on the flop like C/R and raising of C bets the turn betting is always inflated and most times your stack is threatened by the river holding TPTK type hands. It really requires a slightly bigger set of balls, but it's all part of the growing process. From what I hear and read they need to change to brass by $600NL

Lose the notion that its money, and start thinking in terms of BBs.
    You'll be fine

I already do that. It's not that money that's making me nervous.

dunno about you. when i moved up to 200NL and went on a 4 buyin downswing, i kinda freaked out. like you, i was properly desensitized to money. but the downswing "resensitized" me. $800 like a week's salary for a good paying regular job.

eventually, like everyone, you just need to "re-desensitize" yourself, and eventually you'll be cbetting a week's worth of salary.

I'm pretty sure it's the fear of losing money. If you suck, you lose money. That's the bottom line fear in cash.

I should have posted this thread, because it's the same as how I feel.

    When I play only 200nl, I loose a couple buy-ins per session on average. When I play 100nl, I win 3-10 buy-ins per session.

    spoonit,
when did you move up? My BR is at 6500 now but I still play 100nl. Somehow I can play fearless at 100 but scared at 200. I most likely will add 1 table of 200 and see how it goes.

I really think there is a huge gap between 100nl and 200nl players right now, which is why I've gone to playing 6-7 tables of 100nl instead of playing my standard 4 tables of 200nl or trying to take shots at 400nl. The 100nl just seems so soft and the play is so utterly dumb and basic overall that its easy to clean up for ridiculous winrates. I played some 25NL recently bored trying to see how much the different levels seemed different and was up to 700bb within an hour. I kept moving up and found 100nl to still be incredibly soft, not even much better than 25nl imo. I hadn't been playing under 200nl in a couple months for any length of time, and I'm glad I tried moving down, even though I am rolled for 200
my winrate is so much better at 100 I'm sticking, except for weekends where there are still tons of soft 200nl games.
