at 50nl almost any hand can be profitable, depending on how its played.

Does level really matter? I think the main issue with small connectors at lower levels where any two suited will do is that opponents either slow down much more when the flop has a flush draw or bet out strong to kill the odds. The former usually happens when there are multiple players on the flop and the latter with 3 or less from my experience. I'm finding more of my profit from small suited connectors comes from back dooring a not so obvious straight. Overall I give more weight to 4-5 up and am more cautious with 2-3 and 3-4.

So how would you play small connectors to make a profit with them at 50NL?

My experience of 50NL is that is pretty tight at most places so you mostly just play solid hands and value bet the 1 or 2 loose-passives you find at each table.

Ill limp late in multiway pots with connectors and ill often raise late if its folded to me.

I dont think theres much value in playing them in EP though.

i am currently playing 5-max at paradise, and have been fairly successful playing an aggressive game. there seem to be a lot of players that will call a raise, then fold if they miss the flop. those are the players against whom most hands are profitable, if played correctly, which also means dumping them quickly if you face resistance and have nothing.

but there's not really a lot of value in playing most hands from EP. and at full ring i play them pretty much exactly like you described how you play them. if nothing else it makes you look like a bit of a loose nutjob, even if they end up being breakeven themselves.

After 23k hands I am about break even on small sooted connectors. I would only play them in LP if limped or folded to me. I do not call a raise before me but will call a small raise after me. Overall, I'd say that you should not expect to be very profitable playing low sooted connectors. However, it may help open up the range of hands villain can put you on and thus make other hands more profitable.

I think Id rather call a raise before me than one after me because its much more expensive and difficult to play a drawing hand OOP.

I do agree with what you were saying after that though and was about to make the same point. There was a thread in HSNL at 2+2 that asked people about their profitability with SCs and a lot of them said most were profitable but some of the lower ones werent directly. Even though 65s may be breakeven or slightly negative over 100k hands, playing more hands will make it more difficult for villains to put you on a range and make your other hands more profitable.
