Cheating software??

I've just seen someone post a message on Carribean sun about software from a website that basically shows you everyones hands. The website claims it works on all major poker rooms and is undetectable, has anyone else come across this?

Its really put me off Playing online now as it looks just like when you watch poker channel and they show you everyones hands.....any ideas if this is just bogus trying to get people to cough up cash??

So unless pokerstars are lying in their web site - which I do not believe they are, you can feel 100% safe

the website in question was edge-onpoker.com, something like that.

It looked pretty genuine, but from the looks of the encryption stuff from the website posted above it should be ok.

Just sometimes you feel like some of the people seem to know your cards, you know?

I just hope not too many people fall for it cos its $40 a pop

That is the key part, even if someone had some way to hack the game they still couldnt see hole cards.

Technically, to see all the cards they will have to hack into the site's servers past all the security and encryption and extract the data from there.

Only cheating I am really concerned about is perhaps cooperation (Via phone, Yahoo Messenger or similar) of 2-3 people on a 9 people table. That would really suck if 1/3 of the table can work together.

Well, it does send you others hole cards at some point as you see them at the end when people get called. Now its at the end of the hand so you're past the point to cheat anything.

Another concern I had was the site itself cheating by placing robot players at the tables or some evil programmers inserting code to sway the hand in favor of their set-up person. That would be very simple coding. Who knows what regulations are in place in these off the wall locations where the games originate.

As far as cheat software goes, keep this in mind: Let's say someone DID discover how to cheat.

Why would they sell it to you for 20 bucks, when they could just sit at the tables and make a killing? doesn't make sense.

As far as robots go, well, the sites are often audited, to my understanding. They're making money off of EVERY hand regardless of who wins. Why risk that? Why rob a couple players of their rolls when they're making 100s if not 1000's of dollars a minute legitimately. Don't sweat it so much.

As far as bots go, check out this: http://games.cs.ualberta.ca/webgames/poker/

This is probably the most advanced stuff out there and it's pretty much the only programme I know of that's actually done at a university.

I haven't played against any of these, but a colleague of mine has and he beat the bots easily. And he's not exactly a veteran poker player.

There's some stats there and I believe that you may still be able to play against the bots.

In all honesty I have only scanned through the page, though the U of A programme is quite well known in online poker circles, I believe.
