Default New Event Restrictions - 'Qualified Members'

    Hi everyone!

In order to make our freerolls and added money events better value for active members, we've decided to change who we release passwords to.

From today onwards, only Qualified Members will be given access to our password forum. To become a Qualified Member, you just need 35 posts and 15 posts a month.

Once you meet these requirements, you can request to join the group here. (Members meeting these requirements on 8/28/12 have been added automatically!) Please don't spam to make the requirements or your request will not be accepted!

To see our list of exclusive tournaments just click here!

    Good luck in our tournaments!

Prolly a dumb blonde question, but...
Do ALL posts count toward that total (i.e. posts in commune, etc) or only those in the theory threads?

Good question! Only posts which count towards your post count count towards your total, so that excludes non-strategy forums

DOES IT AUTOMATICALLY QUALIFY PEOPEL?!!?!?!? DOES THE COMMUNE COUNT!?!?!?!? WHY AM I NOT QUALIFED!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
That's how winners play; we convince the other guy he's making all the right moves.

Been here 6 years, modded for 3 and have 5K posts and I'm not qualified so get in line.

Gonna have to spam the other forums hehe.

    edit: {now I am qualified? nice}

Hey guys, I didn't know Commune wouldn't count until today, sorry! I've got to sleep but I've sent an email and we'll look into seeing what we can change. I'll PM you tomorrow BooG!

Just quietly, does it really seem like a bad thing that commune posts don't count? If this motivates more experienced players to throw a couple of lines of advice into the BC or wherever once a month, shouldn't we be happy?

In any event I move we ban boog from these things for life.

It wouldn't be the first time I was banned from FTR.

Wait a tick, I just noticed that I can spam this thread and get qualified.

Maybe I'll do that. Would anyone object?

Also, here's a serious suggestion for FTR: the waiting period between posts is pretty short. I think it's 30 seconds or something. Make it like...1.5 minutes or something. Even longer for posts within the same thread or they'll get spammed...kinda like this one.

    (Merged 4 posts - Pascal)

    Merged all your posts!

There is a requirement of 2 minutes between posts for new members, but I'd like to think we can trust our older members not to need to have restrictions in place

restrictions are good longer limited number of fish ))

from memory , when the qualification for active members used to run there would inevitably be people joining and spamming a load of posts to get the access. The way it looks at the moment it only needs someone to spend just over an hour making useless/minimalist replies to multiple threads while no mods are online to get the password and then spread it on the freeroller forums.

Would it be better to make it so that people have to post on say 15 out of the previous 60 days so that you are rewarding active members who are likely to be long term members rather than hit and run short term members.

when i first signed up at FTR ,I used to enjoy playing those tournaments against Jyms ,Stacks etc and some other noob player called newguy69 until the password thieves spoilt the atmosphere and all the active members stopped playing.

edit missed the bit about applying for access, but still think its better for people to have been posting over a period of time rather than an arbitary number of posts.

Hi Keith. The posting restrictions for new members are going to be looked at and revised over the next few days as they don't make much sense at the moment (max 10 posts a day until you have 10 posts I believe) to stop this from happening. The password is only going to be released an hour before the tournament, and all the tournaments are at peak times when moderators are on (and I regularly check the forum) so spamming won't be possible until then. You can also help by reporting spammy posts to alert the moderators

I agree that the forums should be for loyal FTR members with a friendly atmosphere and that's what we want to recreate!

I would've totally won if my ex hadn't come round last night. Definitely her fault.

max 10 posts a day until you have 10 posts I believe
That's a special kind of stupid. This is my kind of stupid.

I don't think I can get involved with these, as I'm an American and I have way too much freedom to be allowed to play on those sites.

We do offer two tournaments for American members

    http://www.flopturnriver.com/pokerfo...ts-159828.html

Carbon on the 11th and Cake on the 25th, both $1 buy in and $50 & $100 added respectively.

If you play at a different poker room online then send me a PM and I'll see if we could get something sorted!

There we two more who joined with ten mins to go, but three players not enough sadly, so the game didn't run. At bwin people can chat in the lobby, and there were a few begging for the password who took great delight in seeing the game cancelled. I took great delight in knowing I'm not nearly as much of an arsehole as them. And I am an arsehole, so that doesn't bode well for them.

There's always next month. I signed up with bwin just for this game, I'll remind people next month in the hope we can get this running monthly. Just too much value to be sniffed at.

Default Im i understanding this correctly

Im thinking that the requirements for the American players ..seems a bit much ..cause like there is only two tourneys I have seen that I can join ... so I have to post 15 times a month for a possible password that I can use...maybe twice in a month... I dont put money on any site so freerolls are all I play ... Lost alot of $$ on Fulltilt and Luvin and not from playing crappy

The requirements should be much tougher imo. These games are meant to be for people who actually want to be part of this community and add some sort of value to the forums. If you feel you have post in these forums just to get a password then you are nothing but but a freetrolling free loader that has no use in the universe and is basically just a waste of good air.

not all post will count , read the rules and see where they are accepted and not . you shouldn't be worried about it so much , any post that count or not is still a value to our forum and is still accepted . the thing is to be active and stay active and to be a valued member here , enjoy your stay , lol .

Well I do enjoy what people add with thier post here... and just cause I dont feel there is anything prevalent I could add to the topics I read.. doesnt make my being here a waste of air... I think it a waste of time posting a "right on" or "way to go" just to get my post # up.. so I guess I will take this que and Thank those of you I have learned from your posts and ask those who feel that I be a waste ..Kiss my Ace

Good news for you bud, you can continue to read the posts without needing any postcount!
  35. #35
I have no idea what that post even says. If you're reading this and thinking about posting on the forum, please be warned that low quality posts will be deleted and constant low quality posting will lead to bans. That includes impossible/very difficult to understand posts and short strategy posts.
  36. #36
How "constant" are we talking here?
