ICK!
Pre-flop nice value raise. Flop fine, turn fine, river check OK but a bet is also good.
Why are we checking the river? Well we have a nice TPGK, but he has called two streets. What can he have? Well, being SB vs BB gives him a nice wide range and the flop call only narrows it some. The turn says he definitely has a piece. So, what could the piece be?
Well 44, 22, JJ, TT, 99, 88, Kx, A9, some double spade A's that floated the flop and potentially (but unlikely), some QJss type hands.
This may not be the perfect range for villain but lets go with it.
If we check what does he bet?
Certainly flushes, probably sets (but not everytime),
Some Kx and 1 pair hands we beat but maybe as a bluff (more likely he checks these behind). Can't think of any total bluffs in this range.
If we bet what does he call with?
Well, he probably raises the flushes, (definitely the A high ones), he may raise but will certainly call the sets. He may also call the Kx hands, even A9, and the pairs above 9s. Of these you beat all but AK. He certainly calls some of them.
What I'm trying to illustrate is that few hands you beat are betting the river when checked to, but there are probably enough to make a call with these pot odds OK. I think the check raise is not good as it simply gives a worse price on the pot.
Betting the river seems much better. It seems like the best way to get value out of all of those worse hands we beat without letting them check behind
