am I being to cautious in this hand?

UTG is 29/23/53 over 30 hands , he Cbet 100% 3/3 and he steals blinds 33%. Ive no notes on him and didnt what he had in any previous hands.


His 4xbb preflop raise -66+,A3s+,K7s+,Q8s+,J9s+,T9s,A8o+,KTo+,QTo+,JTo

1 ) I chose not to raise here and flat call instead, because I wanted to use position if the flop hits me , was that a nitty decision ?

2) his Cbet was 50% of the flop ,so I raised , was my raise too small that it was obvious I didnt have the A ? Im suspecting it was.

When he calls my raise ,I put him on a medium pocket pair. or perhaps he still held an A x ,but a crap kicker.



3) when he checks the turn , I felt like he either has this A or still pocket pair, but he is OOP ,so doesnt know where where he stands.I think he has the best hand , but he doesnt know that basically. Im also worried his medium pair has now gaven him a slowplayed full house.

4) Now, even though the river Q gives me 2 pair. Im affraid he has a hidden FH , or maybe he snuck in with an flush .

I just check.

Should I have continued firing ?
Are all my decisions way too nitty in this hand ?

Why did you check turn if you're representing a much stronger hand? If you're going to check, whats the point of min raising him on the flop? Raise more...if you make a small-medium PP fold here is great (a hand better than yours).

As played, I'm firing a value bet (does not need to be big). He would lead the betting if he had a flush and he would bet the turn or river if he had an ace. You can be called here by worse hands, like medium pairs. Checking behind isnt bad, though...your hand has showdown value.

Yes, I should have fired on the turn and tried to get him to fold there and then.

I obviously didnt have a game plan.

As played I valuebet the river because if he called the flop with something like 88-JJ after you check the turn he's probably not going to want to believe you. I'd expect an ace or backdoor flush to try to get some value on the river cuz it looks like you've given up trying to put money in yourself. Obv check the river if it was a blank.

If you want to get villain off their hand, I think float and bet turn > raise as if you have a hand and then have to follow through into a bigger pot on the turn >>>> minraise.

Like you said, you need a gameplan. Even if you see a flop and think there's an opportunity to take a pot away, think past the initial action. What else are you potentially going to have to do to win this pot?
