It's 10NL... don't get tricky.

1. Depends on your read. Bet as much as you think he'll call. At least $4... or if you think he'll bite, just shove it in. The nice thing about the overshove at these levels is that they will get called (esp if he's sitting on like Q or J of spades) enough times to make them +EV...
2. Meh... I prolly check/call. If he flopped the flush or AT 2pr then nh. At least I'm not getting shoved over. There are enough busted FDs in his range and AQ/AJ type hands to make it worth calling a reasonable bet.

1. he's bad
2. he called down two streets when the hands he most likely will have are an ace or a spade
3. an ace isnt paying you off anymore so go for maximum value from the weaker spades in his range

I wouldn't shove he could easily have like the four of spades, and since the 9 and the T are already on the board, he only has two cards that can call off a shove: Q and J
I disagree with AFchung because I see a donk sometimes calling a $4 bet with an ace anyway, and very likely with a set or two pair
another thing that can happen is sometimes he has the queen and says "I have the second best hand possible" and shoves over our bet, which is rare, but also adds value to betting a smaller amount

on a non-spade river I'd check call if he bluffs, and bet/fold if he doesn't

I agree with IOPQ on everything except this: I'm shoving the river all-in all day long and twice on Sundays.

Reasons:

1. It looks bluffy
2. It gets paid off by sets/straights and worse flushes pretty regularly
3. It's more profitable getting called less often but for a bunch more money
4. This AF ~ 2.6 plus his call/call line flop/turn suggest he's drawing to a big hand or slow-playing a monster.

Overall: shove river 'cuz I want to give him the best chance possible to make the HUGE mistake with the 2nd best hand.

ok I agree with these two points.

Results: I made a small overbet of 7.50 into the 5.65 pot and he called with 6s6x. Immediately afterward I regretted this bet because pretty much any hand that calls 7.50 is calling a shove. imo shoving river is best and he probably pays us off quite often. At the time I just didn't think betting almost double the pot would get called often enough to make it the best play, but if he's gonna call a 7.50 bet with a 6s then he'll pay off a shove often enough to make it the best play.
