So, whats the biggest things I can work on now? Getting better at all aspects of poker. Read article, watch videos,
post hands and questions. All will help you learn more. If you
don't understand
pot odds and
implied odds learn them. Bet sizing, and why you bet.
Pot control. Just read everything you can get your hands on.
Should I move down a lvl? IMO, yes. Your playing 25nl with a $290
roll. Thats online ~12 buyins. It sounds as if you want to win, and HATE losing your
roll (which is obviously how you should feel). So why increase the chances that you go
broke again? The general rule is you need 20+ buyins for the
level you are wanting to play (more the higher the levels). SO you would need around a $500 BR before starting 25nl. So that means you should be playing 10nl right your current
roll. I think this would also help control your
tilt because instead of losing 8% of your
roll when you get stacked you will only be losing 3%. Would probably help you
deal with the swings a little better.
Should I leard how to control my tilting better? Absolutely. It could only help. I
don't know how many rolls you've went through, but it's never good
to go through any due to tilting. Just realize that YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE at times. It happens. The
poker Gods aren't punishing you and your account isn't rigged. It happens. Your pocket Aces will get cracked. Your flopped straights will lose. It happens. Just make sure you
don't do anything to increase the chances of it happening (ie. slowplaying when you shouldn't or stacking off too
light). You really need to get
tilt under control because if you
tilt after losing $25 how are you going to handle it when you play incredibly good for 2 hours and lose $150 or so? Or even more when you get to the higher levels? Because that will happen also.
And what about pokertracker? Is it realy that helpfull? Pokertracker does a number of things and they all help in some way. Everyone should have it. At least download the free trial of PT3. It keeps track of how many hands you've played, money you've won/lost, your
winrate, graphs, sessions, hands,
position stats,
stats on other players. It's pretty much mandatory for becoming a better player
imo. Doesn't necessarily have to be PT. There is new software out called Hold'em Manager. Give that a look too.
