Played this poorly

Generally in this spot I bet 3/4 pot on the flop. Here I thought Id make a FD more attractive looking while still giving incorrect odds to call (3/1 with 18% to make flush on turn). The whole hand looks stinky to me though. How should I have played it? Converter didnt include it but I c/f to a push on the river.

i would pot the flop. thats a draw heavy board

OP, you may be right mathematically about pricing out the flush draw, but you have to remember that not many players look at it that way. Lots of players will float the flop with a flush draw and re-evaluate on the turn. That's why your bet should be more like 75% or so.

Pretend you are the one calling preflop with 2 clubs, and the villain is the one with the kings. Would you call a 50 cent bet on that flop to catch a flush? I would 100% of the time.

I think that if the turn is then a blank, you can cut your margin a little thinner.

Yeah, you need to make sure that the money is going in while you are the one who has the most equity in the hand.

I don't think too many players at this level are figuring they need 5:1 to make a call like this profitable

If he'll call getting 3:1 he'll probably call getting 2:1 if you pop him on the flop

I'd PSB the flop....

Anyone think shoving over the SB on the turn is +EV w/ top set, nut-flush draw, 9 outs to boat and 1 to quad? Obv no reads, but I may fold out a weaker made flush or some other kind of Ax, AK, AJ or even lower set nonsense... and might actually spike the nuts on the river.

QFT, you'll see a huge difference in your game if you throw in a few more quads for sure. I preffer straight flushes, but' it's all about taste.
