Default Winstar Casino in Thackerville, OK (Red River border)

I'm gonna be going to Winstar in about 12 hrs. They recently got their poker room set up. Right now, I understand they have $4/8 limit, $1/2 NL and $2/5 NL. I know there are more limit games, but I'm not too sure yet. I'll let everyone know when I return. The casino is right at the TX/OK border so it's close to me (within 1-2 hrs)

Some of my friends have already been, and have nothing but nice things to say about it. Molinero and I are planning a trip. Whereabout are you?

I'm from Plano, TX (near Dallas), not too far off. It's a great place to play, but game selection is kinda low. There's 4/8 limit, 5/10 limit, 2/5 NL, 10/20 NL that I can remember. I bought in with $100 at 4/8L because the min buy in at 2/5NL was 300 (!!). I'm still not clear on their rake structure as it's not a percentage, but it's capped at $5+1, where the 1 belongs to the state of OK because of some regulation on gaming. There's also blackjack and slots. Blackjack has a .50 ante which is just odd.

I went to Winstar's poker room yesterday, being a Texan with no opportunity (until now) to play at a B&M, this was my first-ever poker room trip. The room did seem to be quite nice, and the games and limits were as previously stated, but they also spread a 5/10 NL as well as the 2/5 NL, and they had 20/40 listed on the board but I'm not sure if there was a table spread, after all, it was Tuesday.

They just recently expanded their poker room hours to 12 noon to 3 AM (CST). I believe the great majority of players were from the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, as am I, and which is basically an hours drive away.

A great new destination for us poker-room deprived Texans! I'll be going back very soon!

I was just down there last week and was very impressed with the amount of action for a Thursday afternoon. The room is currently open daily from 12:00pm to 4:00am. However, they may open early on weekends if the demand is high enough. Call 800-622-6317 for more info. Poker Manager is John Montella, [email protected]

There are 20-22 tables, each seating 9 players plus dealer.

Games being spread are as follows:
    Limit: 4-8, 5-10, 10-20, and on occasion 20-40
No Limit: 2-5 (Min $300 Max $500 buy in), 5-10 (Min $500 Max $1000 buy in)

I would also suggest to check out Comanche Red River Casino in Duvol, Oklahoma. Its right on the OK/TX border just north of Wichita Falls. They have been big poker room as well and plenty of action serving up 1-2 and 2-5 NL. They also have a bad beat jackpot to boot.

ALL THESE POSTS ARE 2 YEARS OLD.
    UPDATE:

They opened new huge 24hr room with 48 tables.

    They spread...
    NLH
    1/2 100-200buyin
    2/5 300-500 buyin
    5/10 500-2000buyin
Also i have seen 10/20 going before

    Limit
    4/8
    5/10
    and higher

    Omaha
They usually have a 4/8 limit O8 game
also a 5/10 PLO game sometimes gets spread

    Mixed
a 5/10 PLO and NLH mixed game gets going fairly regualarly

The new room is as nice as anyone in Vegas. They have a private smoking lounge and a players lounge with couches and TVs and you can watch the wait list. Only downside is the high rake. 10% up to $5 PLUS $1 every hand for the bad beat jackpot.

O8 makes OCCASIONALLY, and PLO is usually 2/5.

Just so you know, the auto card shufflers they use "Shuffle Master" has a new built in programable board that is designed to do one thing, send any 2 cards they want to any 2 players sitting at that table, it's as easy as sending a text msg!
They also at the same time control what cards go to the flop-turn-and river!
I know cause I worked on them 4 years ago before the new program came out. We were all excited waiting for it to come out, we figured it would boost are leases through the roof.
But I left before it made it, so I didn't see it in action. My friend says it works as easy as sending a text msg with your phone. that would explain why they don't like people using phones at the tables.
So you might be better off going to play at your local card game.
I don't gamble but if I did I would try to write some code to catch the signal, decrypt it, then program a phone to send my own msg so I would win!
When I was working with them they wanted to make sure the hands went to the last card so the house would get the max income on every hand.
I guess that was not enough for them.
any how, I wouldn't throw babies in the air just yet and have dreams of winning big. It's a controlled game.
    And Big names= Big bucks.

yikes, now live poker is rigged too.

A "Shuffle Master" is not a cheating device. If it were, the casino would not buy it and players would not play there. I've played in many different states, including Nevada, and the Winstar is run very well. Instead of blaming your loses on fictional bull**** why don't you learn how to play poker. I'll see you at the Winstar.
