6 Max or 10 player ring games?

I play @ Empire Poker and was wondering in your opinion which is more profitable: the 10 max or the 6 max tables playing 25NL.

If you're good and not interested in playing 4 tables at once, 6max is the way to go.

I have tried the 6max table and do very well when there are 5-6 people playing....however when it drops to 4 and occasionally 3 for short periods I have a lot of difficulty. The easy answer is to work on my short-handed game (part of the reson I have difficulty w/ tournaments) but I just feel more comfortable playing NL at 8,9,10 person tables. Try both...play nothing but 6max for a day or two then go back to the 10 person tables - keep track to see which is more profitable to you.

I always stuck to 10max tables. I think it was safer to clear the bonus and made an OK profit. Recently, I have played 6 max and find them to be much more fun.

10 max is easier to play super tight and get your feet wet.

6 max has a lot more action because you have to play more hands.

I have been crushing 6max so far over the short term compared to 10max. Things can go bad quickly shorthanded so make sure you have the funds to absorb the swings.

Hmmmm... I have been playing both the 6max and the regular (10max) $25NL tables, and have found that the 6max tables are more profitable to me. The only advantage of the 10max tables are the cool names that the tables have (i.e. Dances With Wolves and Hearty Ale...). Seems easier to bluff after the flop on 6 max probabaly because you have 4 or sometimes less people playing, thus making it more unlikely that someone got a piece of the flop. Also, if I was a n00b(no, I don't play Counter-strike...) I would go play the 6 handed games because there are less people, I'd be scared of a big table full of voracious vultures vying vehemently to tear my bankroll up. Just my superior logic...

I think you stand a better chance of falling victim to a shark attack at a 6 max table. It is much easier to isolate you that way. At a full ring, you can sit back and only wait for premium starting hands and great flops. If you are a really good player, I think 6 max is the way to go. I'm not good enough for it yet myself, although I do fairly well in SNG's once they get down to 6 and less.

Lots more bluffing and mediocre hands are betting at you in 6 max.
