    Default Questions about feeler bets

What kind of information do you guys get from a feeler bet?

    How much should it be?

    When should it be implemented?

I never make "feeler bets" in a sense of a small bet to see where the other guy is in the hand. I only make small bets when I'm weak leading with monsters. My feeler bets are re-raises more than the minimum or decent sized bets of about half the pot. If they call me on the flop, they have to have something so i figure out what it could be. I narrow my choices and pick one the most likely and run with it. The reason why i make hearty bets are becuase they're excellent set ups for turn or river bluffs.

    "Feeler Bets"/ Bets for information.

I will always make a feeler bet if I catch a good piece of a dangerous flop (and its always the size of the pot).

I will make a pot sized bet when it is checked around to me and im last to act.

If I get re-raised I'm in a tough spot and may or may not continue with the hand. But I firmly believe that a pot sized bet on the flop can save chips in the long run.

Ah, yes. That's usually how i conduct my bet. I never considered them feeler bets, just standard operating procedure. Just ignore my first post then :P

You can use Feeler bets in a low LHE game when you caught a piece of the pot with heavy action preflop. Say you have AKo and it gets capped preflop by 3 people. The flop is K 7 4 rainbow, if I am first to act I will bet to see if I get Reraised. If they have AA, AK or trips they will normally reraise, but if they all call I feel confident. Be weary of the raise on the turn though, they could be slowplaying trips.

Its been semi effective on realizing when to fold, If you .25 and get reraised twice its cheaper than if you were to check call with a raise in front of you because you would never know what you are up against.

Plus, theres always a difference of what you perceive a good hand is compared to that of an opponent. Getting check raised on the turn by high-card always confuses me.
