Default I need a suckout strategy

Okay, I'm sorta whining again but I'm at least 36% serious too.

If you can't beat 'em join 'em, as they say. And I cannot beat people who are constantly making calls against the odds and constantly completing anyway.

Like for example today I'm quite certain that I've made top pair 5-6 times with two suited cards on the flop. And bet the pot each time. And 4-5 times another of that suit has come on the turn.

In other news I've flopped 8 or 9 fourflushes myself, and completed I think 1 of them.

I think it's my turn to play trash and win anyway.

So what's the most inexpensive way to chase?

It goes toward a well known Good Thing: varying your play. For example it's healthy to decide you're going to be a calling station for awhile. Then get really tight. Then really aggressive. And so on.

Well at some point maybe playing like a fish for awhile might be smart. What kind of table rep would you want in order to make this profitable? If you're known to be fairly tight, for example, fishplay would be pretty deceptive.

    Any thoughts?

    himself fucker.
The most inexpensive way to bluff is usually the semi-bluff re-raise on the flop for a free card on the turn. Any time I flop a clean 8 outer, I'll usually re-raise any bet to isolate the two of us and get a free card. If the decide to come back at me on the turn where I've missed my hand, I'll lay it down unless I've got some fancy read on him and think a bluff would work nicely.

Based on one of your ther posts, I think you are playing some questionable preflop cards. AJ, KQ, KJ.. offsuit shouldnt generally be played from early position. AK or anyon of those big cards suited are ok to play....

Also I think you are betting too big on the top pair unless you also have TK. Betting the pot with Top pair and ok or small kicker from early position is generally not heathly, assuming there are 2+ opps behind you. I wouldnt recommend chasing your self unless you have pot odds. You might find yourself compounding your losses. I.e. dont generally chase unless 2+ opps are in

Might have a point there. I'll disclose a bit more to see in more detail:

If there are fewer than 7 at the table, I'll limp AJ and KQ from any position. Especially if UTG has folded. I'll pass 'em if UTG calls and I have enough chips for now.

It's pretty likely I have a leak in my game right at top pair decent kicker. My thinking is that most of the time people flop nothing or very little. I want those people out of there. I bet big and if I get a call or two I'll start trying to figure out what they like about this hand.

It seems that I run into TPTK more often than I should. It's probably because I assume they're on a good draw --- TPTK should reraise me most of the time I think.

Gorilla: I think that's they way to treat an 8outer. I think betting big on the 4flush is a sort of obvious play, so I don't do it very often. The reraise from later pos. is a neat idea and I'll try it out... seems like that play has good potential to rep a set or 2pair, so that you could very likely get 2 chances on your flush.

The way I'm playing it now, it seems like I actually need 6 to 1 to call a 4flush, because I won't see the river 80% of the time (i.e. the 5 out of six times that the turn does not complete me)
