thoughts? i know my line is pretty bad, but im not really sure what to do in this spot. opp is 44/8 and tends to play pretty aggressive. he limps 99, kqs from utg

What are your reads on UTG? Do you normally 3bet jacks from blinds against a UTG PFR? I don't like your 3B sizing at all....looks like you just pressed the pot button.

If your gonna cbet this board then cbet 1/2-2/3pot. Much less likely his gonna be raise bluffing a 2/3 cbet then a wtf small 3bb bet.

If you don't know how to deal with insanity OOP, then don't do insane shit OOP. Call pre next time, and when flop comes like this maybe call flop, c/f turn. This fish just has too many Ax and Kx in his range and folds it like NEVER.
And yes, your cbet looks like you are scared.

dont turn a perfectly good hand into a preflop bluff IMO - especially not OOP

I have alot of trouble with these spots too. Seems like the only time I get jj it's from the blind s/utg. I kinda like the call pre, andfold on a shitty flop, like the one you got. Bluff on the flop should been like 1.40 or something but I think check/fold is better.

pre doesn't seem great vs an utg open from someone with a low pfr.
If button was the 44-8 and utg was like 17-13 with 77% fold to 3b then it would be great.
flop bet sizing is funny, you can bet-fold $1.40 or you can check fold.

It may be that I don't play FR at all but I don't understand some of the comments here. JJ should be good enough to 3-bet for value even against an UTG range. Are we flatting AK here too?

If "turning JJ into a bluff" means getting two guys who probably have around 60% equity that's a good result and I would definitely lean toward a large 3-bet size ($1-$1.25). That doesn't mean we go apeshit on a T-high flop but if we just flat it feels like we're turning JJ into 22.

as played I would either bet 1/3 pot and give up or c/f.

i think people are making the mistake of thinking that the UTG opener is 44/8 and it's him who called. we need reads on UTG + BU to decide whether 3-betting > calling preflop. reads which are absent in OP.

ps 44/9's are loose/passive fish. they aren't "lags".

yeah there is probably confusion over that, especially the part where it says villain limps 99/KQ UTG.

Ah, sorry about that mates, utg was like 20/15. button was something like 28/0 iirc, and bb was 44/8 and would limp kqs/99 etc utg, and seemed to have a tendency to raise any non-pot size bet to pot maybe 60% of the time, though I could be overestimating that
