So it's been a long time since I updated this which I guess is understandable given that I really haven't played any poker. I played one session of live where I busted a 20 dollar bonkament in a 5 way AIPF with 7bb and then lost a stack and a half at 1/2 to some terrible kid because I wasn't paying enough attention to fold top two when he was literally jumping out of his seat with a straight.

Since then I've been just grinding away at life, dealing with a bunch of personal shit and trying to figure out my life. I job searched pretty intensely for a couple weeks and applied for around 15 positions, had a couple interviews and then decided i just didn't have enough time or money to continue my job search after graduation. As a result I am going to be leaving the Chicago area after June 11th and either moving back to my home town in Iowa where it is insanely cheap to live or crashing at my parents' place in Arizona for a little while until I can find a job somewhere. It's been a pretty rough last few weeks and I actually decided to start going to a counselor here at school (they offer that as a free service) and my first session was pretty awesome. I've only got a couple more weeks to take advantage of it but so far it's been pretty neat and rather eye opening.

Things have calmed down a bit this week and I am really trying to focus a bit more on school than I have so far this year. I finally was able to play poker tonight as well which was awesome. Some buddies have been trying to get a home game together all year and we finally had enough people tonight for a little 20 dollar cash game. Blinds were .25/.5 and so everyone was short stacked most of the night (lol blind structure but w/e) I only played a few real big pots and lost the biggest one in a 4 way all in with bottom set vs two people's TP and one FD which got there to scoop. I rebought and ended up cashing out for 97 for a nice little profit. My instincts were still sharp and I don't think I made any real mistakes despite playing absurdly loose and passive preflop due to all the limping.

Still have my fingers crossed for getting my FTP money back which would be a nice little economic boost and I am considering possibly playing a bit on Merge once I graduate though it'd definitely be in the form of a very small deposit.
