Default TV poker hand: purpose of dwans cbet?

I'm watching an old aussie millions high stakes tourny something something episode on youtube.
    YouTube - 2/4 E01 Aussie Millions 2010 episode 1 (hand at 5:25)
The TV hud is pretty crappo, but its like 6 handed or something and blinds are 500/500. It's pot limit preflop and no limit afterflop.

    Hand goes like this:

Billy opens QQ from EP 1500
Ivey calls with A8 from MP 1500
Dwan raises 93 from BTN to 6500

    Billy Calls, Ivey Calls.
    Pot is 10500

    Flop is 553.

    Dwan Bets 9500...
    Billy Raises to whatever...
    Dwan Folds.

So Dwan cbets his bottom pair. I'm wondering if you guys think this is for value (such a crap flop that two overs might still call) or as a bluff (im not sure what he'd be repping here other than overpairs). I'm leaning toward value since dwan knows his image is aggro (so people will call down lighter) + he has a hand. But a potsize bet ? I DUNNO

It could be entirely read dependent but its episode one and early days into the tournament from what i can tell. So dwans bet is likely value/bluff/semibluff?

From Easy Game, discussing taking down dead money and protection as they relate to betting. BalugaWhale says taking down dead money is a valid but rare reason to bet while protection is not a reason to bet, but rather a consequence of betting.

"Let’s say our hand is red QQ on a Q♠T♠9♣ board. We bet for value—there are many worse hands that will call or raise us. The fact that we’re charging draws and “protecting” is nice, but it’s hardly the original motivation for our bet. Now let’s say we hold 6♥6♦ on a Q♥9♥3♣ board. We can bet there to collect dead money, but we’re hardly “protecting.” Most draws are either 50/50 against us or are a significant favorite (A♥J♥ comes to mind). The moral of the story is that when we have a set of Queens, our hand needs protection, but it needs value first and foremost. When we have a pair of sixes, our hand doesn’t really need protection because it’s not very strong. All we have is a pair of sixes. It seems pretty dumb to protect ourselves from A♥J♥ when A♥J♥ is a favorite over us. Instead, we might bet 66 on the Q♥9♥3♣ board as a thin bluff (against hands like 77 or 88) or for thin value (against a hand like A♥4♥), but mostly to collect dead money against a hand like A♣T♣ that will fold its 6-outer on the flop." His 3bet range on the BTN is alot wider. This is Durr, not a 5NL reg.
