    Default Winning% Beating Losing%

When I decided to get involved with Poker back in March "09" I was not playing games with real money. I didn't really know how to play competative Poker. I registered for a 45 player NL HOLD'EM Tourneament and won it. I was shakin when it came down to me and 1 other player. They sent me an email that I won 5.50. I was very excited. So I decided to open a cash account and start playin.

Then I was on the site more frequently and saw FTR freerolls quite a bit. I'm glad I called up Poker Stars and asked what FTR freerolls were. The guy explained that FlopTurnRiver.com was a Poker Community that anyone could join and they teach you how to play all kinds of Poker games. Thats when I decide to join FTR basicly for the freerolls.

I figured,I joined,I'm a member, I could play the FTR freerolls. Everytime I tried to get passwords it said NOT AUTHORIZED.Thats when I emailed Xianti, said;am I a member or what and he explained to me that you have to earn freerolls by posting and stickin around. Thats when I really began to disect the FTR site. The knowledge and information is unbelievable and especially the humor, keeps you intrested. I decided to expand my horizons and open an account at Full Tilt not even being any good at Poker, terriable. I donated alot of money to that site and the winning players. I was more intrested in happy hour and getting points just by playing and losing. Then I went back to FTR and started reading more and more.

I opened an account at Doyles Room.I found a game their that really slowed me down and opened my eyes because I'm very hyper even at 50yyoung , Double-up,it showed me how to relax and anyalize the situation and other players. I started playing $2,$5,$10 games and winning. Now I'm playin $50,$75,$100,$200 or more and winning. Between FTR and double-up. It made me a better tournament player. It showed me you don't have to be in every hand to win. When antes are low take a risk with 2-4's,K-6's etc but it sucks when someone goes all in for 30 chips. You see how many times you have AK and lose.

There was a Doyles Bounty tournament last friday($25 buy-in 415 players). I took 8th place, $250 plus with bounty pay, could have been $2000 if I was cool, calm, collective . I could have done better, but got stupid when playing over 250,000 chips and got beat on the river card after goin all in when I didn't have to. Had 2 pair A's-2's and a flush. River card gave villian straight flush. Oh well, next time.

Don't even look at freerolls unless there with FTR community.Have not made a deposit in a while unless opening an account at new a skin or network. I'm cashing in on most 6-180 player tourneys. Its hard to play bigger tourneys because I have alot of family things to take care of.Even if you get your entry back, its something. Thanks Xianti and all FTR members for making me a better player. Now I'm at 10 Poker sites. macatac1,macatac100,macatac1000 that would be me. I do like those chat bubbles at G2G Poker and Carbon Poker.

I must of jinxed myself because I lost every game since, including Double-up after my last post.See,time to take a break and go back down to the$2,$5,$10,$20 games. It is my fault because when your on a roll you expect the cards to go your way.Time to relax and get back into the groove.See you all out there.I think I'll try Limit Hold'Em. Default GOT CLASS

cbat and outlaw, I thought this site was to help people, not embarass and criticize them. The humor with freerolls not funny, OK. No positive inputs from either one of you. So you must be the cut-up guys. I had 20 surgeries 8 on wrist and elbows. I hate typing. It took a day to type that. Well nice talking to you, my mind needed the rest. I hope this is easy enough to read. Thanks for your support. That is one paragraph.

Hi Mac, glad you've found this site useful. What sort of help were you after? My 0.02c is that you seem to have been up and down a lot - you say you were playing $200 (NL?) and now back down to $2, $5 etc. have you read and taken on board the posts on bankroll management? One of the most important concepts for new (and not so new) players.

Your post had no questions and there's nothing wrong with humor. If you can't take a joke this is the wrong site for you.

Default My Final Chapter In Life. "POKER"

Sorry, didn't know it was a joke. Some of my friends call me Archie Bunker, you know my own vocabulary,Ha. Went to a trade school for mechanics, not college. Quit high school in junior year due to my Father passing at 42, during the riots at GAGE PARK "Chicago", after a 98 on the constituation test.Got my G.E.D. at 22yrs old. Don't know english and grammer or writing to well.Got a C in English. Not well doing these thing on computer.Usually fixing them for my 3 kids.

Beside all the operations on my hands and arms. Can't type too well. That's why I don't go in the chat room, take me too long to type. So I had a bad day and let everything get to me, Sorry about that. Got a job in mechanics, was a Master Tech, bought my own repair shop.Sold that, went into carpentry. My back collapesed, haven't worked in 10 years. I'm lucky to get 2 days out of each month that I feel good.20 operatios and still fudged-up. At doctor's and therapy visits 3-4 days a week. Finall found something to get off the couch. There's my story briefly

So,back to Poker. I'm doing fairly we'll, up and down like everybody else. Learned to be more carefully not to get beat with villian's straight or flush against my 3 of a kind or 2 pair.On to the next goal, getting more info. from the Flop Turn River site. Was repairing and cleaning-up 4 of my computers the last week.Time to play some games and get some practice in.

macatac100 welcome to FTR. Sounds like you are very excited about the game and that is a good thing. I will warn you though you have to have a thick skin in here!
I have a question for you. What is your bankroll? I'm not a tourney or SnG player but I am curious if you are aware of good bankroll management?
Keep us posted as to how you are doing and post some hands if you find yourself in tough spots. Remember tight is right for the most part until you have good reads etc.

    Good luck to ya

    Default Bankroll

I started my Bankroll at 1950, now at 4962. Started playin at the end of March. I start the day at $2.00 games to see what kind of day I'm going to have and go from there. I also have ADD so it depends how long I could sit and consentrate. All of the questions I would ask are in the forum alresdy answered one place or another. And yes I've read Bankroll Management several times and keep going back to read it. Thanks. Key goal making money and not letting bad cards get to me.
