    Default Random Hand

A thought occurred to me that perhaps I may have a leak that I'm not aware of, but since I haven't lost a great deal of money with it I might not know it's a leak until it's really huge so...

I thought I would pick a random hand from my collection and post it just to see if I made the right moves. So here it goes...

    Absolute/UB Cereus No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (5 handed) - Absolute/UB Cereus Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    Button ($0.74)
    SB ($6.50)
    BB ($1.89)
    UTG ($0.97)
    Hero (MP) ($2.81)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 10, A
1 fold, Hero bets $0.07, 2 folds, BB calls $0.05

    Flop: ($0.15) 8, 9, 4 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.11, BB calls $0.11

    Turn: ($0.37) Q (2 players)
    BB checks, Hero checks

    River: ($0.37) J (2 players)
BB bets $0.10, Hero raises to $0.33, 1 fold

    Total pot: $0.57 | Rake: $0.02

I don't c-bet this flop without reads that villain is lose in the blinds with loads of broadways etc and plays somewhat fit or fold. If his range consists of mainly pairs and sc's etc, it hits this flop reasonably hard and doesn't fold often enough to a c-bet imo. We can 2 barrell some turns, but at 2NL this is proabably bad since a LOT of players are total stations. I'd just check back flop in position, there are quite a few turn cards that improve our equity.

As played yeah check turn back, it does hit our range here, but it also imrpoves a lot of his range aswell.

River - we're just ignorig that donk bet and betting for value ourselves really. I'd r/f to like $0.40, we can get paid by 2 pair etc and probably safely fold if he 3 bets us.

you didn't post any reads, and that's a leak
you could get more advice/100 threads if you posted reads on the villain

or, if you're worried about playing it right analyze the hand yourself first so people can comment on your thought process

    Alright,

    Here was my thinking.

    PF: Raise obviously...
Flop: CBet to take it down there, I think this guy was pretty passive so if it didn't take it down I thought he may have had a holding and would just check/fold.
Turn: The Q hurt me more than helped and I checked it to him expecting him to bet if he had it, I didn't see him bluffing here.
River: Obviously that gave me the straight and I wasn't worried about the flush as I couldn't see him continuing with only 3/5 of what he needed when I bet the flop so I value betted here hoping he ran into two pair at least.

While I agree with how you played the hand, I think your thinking on the turn is flawed
while it's true the Q didn't help your hand, it helped your range
because you have a lot more Qx hands than TT-JJ that were hurt by this card

your hand went down from 27% equity to 22% equity vs. a 9 so it's not like that card was terrible for your hand either, since it gave you additional outs

    consider sometimes betting that card

So what you're saying is bet that hand and it he did hit it it's an easy fold after?
