Your 3-bet size is a bit small imo. I'd like $3.50 or more...

Your move is fold or push there, and without a read I would reluctantly fold to an UTG raise/4-bet. However if I'm in a gambling mood, I'll push (expecting to be called by JJ+, AKs) Another possible side benefit of pushing (and showing down) is that you'll get respect and your future bluffs may be more successful. I just can't see calling in this spot, and a fold just seems more correct without a read.
    Hey knucklehead! Bonk!

I like the way you think, I would never call in this situation either. I wanted to call and I wanted to fold. With no reads on the player, I think the fold is definitely the best situation.

probably call the first time around

as played I don't think your decision will make much difference either way

When I read your post, I think I should fold.

However, I know if I was in that situation, I'd probably call. *Sigh* I know a few leaks, yet I can't help myself sometimes and the gambler within comes out to plaaaaayyyyyyy...
    OP: Beginner to Master

If I bet as a bluff, I should be thinking "am I getting better hands to fold? Is it likely that he will fold x% of the time to a y sized bet to make it +EV?". If I bet for value, I should be thinking "am I getting worst hands to call? Am I ahead of enough of his range that this is a good value bet?".
