Default 6max vs Full Ring Advice

This is directed more towards the more experienced players i guess. I've noticed that the higher up in stakes you go, full ring basically dries up and 6max, or shorthanded play predominates. Anyone who has seen my blog knows im grinding full ring micros at the moment. Was wondering if at this early stage i should be concentrating on 6max and learning the ropes there rather that at full ring. dont get me wrong, i dont have crazy ambitions to go pro or anything, but i do wanna keep moving up.
My thoughts are i dont wanna waste the cheap lessons and experiece i get at the micros and then have to learn a whole new game in the future.

I four table 6 max 25NL and i recommend starting at full ring. Full ring requires you to be more patient and play more premium hands, such that you dont face as many tough situations. It is the nut camping play, you want to basically wait for high pairs and go set fishing to make your money.

As your skill, br and confidence increase, you might wanna do 6max. Blind stealing and playing more marginal hands such as KJ, QJ, maybe even J10 suited becomes more available. Also, you can be more aggressive and cbet more.

In full ring more than likely you are gonna get alot more callers, so you are really waiting to hit a big hand or draw to continue after the flop. Also, bluffing and stealing are a poor idea at full ring, specifically at the micros.

If you like to multi-table, full ring might be better. You can easily play like 10 tables at a time, since you are really waiting for good hands. 6 max takes more concentration and you are playing more hands and betting alot more.

i would just start playing 6max now. its going to be easier to grind your way up playing 6max than moving up levels at full ring only to later jump into similar stakes 6max games and get owned.

no shortage of tables playing FR up to 200nl, maybe even 400nl. I sometimes play 6-max 50nl when i hit up a bonus at a smaller site. Sure, it's different, but it's not like 5cd or omaha or something.

when i move permanently to 200nl FR I'll start mixing in some 50nl 6-max sessions. I'll consider my 6-max roll a separate roll and move up or down as that roll dictates.

Hopefully I'll learn to play postflop that way. And i'd like to have a few extra strings before ever moving to 400nl.

I don't notice 6m to be any different than FR when it gets folded to you.
