I played this hand horribly

I won my entire stack from this guy in a previous hand where it went all in on the flop with a set (he had TPTK). He was running 45/12/2.4 and then I get pocket KK and am like YESS ANOTHER STACK FROM HIM (perfect situation basically, we are both 200BB deep) when the board is so dry... so I check, then on the turn I bet, He calls me, so i'm thinking he has a Q or something, then on the river I bet and he minraises, i'm like hmmm... He can't have JT (for the straight) so I shove and he shows me JT and I cry like WAHHHH, and now am so frustrated at how I just threw my 3 hour session hard work away

These guys at the micros will never minraise without the nuts, when someone minraises at the micros they're basically openning up and saying "oh hello sir, I have the nuts, please call, it's so much cheaper than a big fat raise like you normally do". I should've realized I feel so dumb now (anyways, now I'm just chillin and wonderrin what I can do, since I got nuthin to do and feel like I'll play badly if I start playin poker again...

would this flop not be a prime suspect for checking behind?

I can't imagine betting out every flop with top set is the most profitable play, especially on a board so dry...

I'm a newb so don't take this as real advice, more a conversation point I hope to get clarified

this is why I don't slowplay sets, cuz i would feel so dirty folding one

should probably add that I still wouldn't fold this here even though we are 200 BB deep versus a guy who overvalues TP. I am sure that to him 2 pair is the nuts, so the minraise doesn't really make me not want to push.

fair enough, but it seems as if any crazy river action that we are beat by on this flop has to be runner runner or a turned/rivered overset or quads. Obviously this happens, but is it not just a bad beat?

I've been working on putting villains on ranges of hands, and gosh it seems like the only hand that beats hero here is such a small % of his range.

Intuitively it feels like comparing the amount of $ that hero wins with a std continuation bet on this flop to the amount of $ hero wins minus the $ hero loses from checking the flop, would turn out a lot better for checking.

edit: and river action wasn't really crazy, it was a min raise
