Default Which book should I get from the FT Store with my points?

...keeping in mind that I'm mostly a cash, not tourney player.

    http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/store.php -> Books

The only ones I've read out of that list are the sklansky books and phil gordon's green book.

This one looks good to me just because I am not great at the math aspect of Hold-em - "Texas Hold'em Odds and Probabilities"

I am almost through with Harrington on Cash Vol's I and II but suspect that you wouldn't get that much out of them.

Too bad you don't play tourney's as I am also about 1/3 of the way through - Every Hand Revealed and it is pretty good so far.

yeah, past the sklansky's I can't really recommend any, Phil G's books are as dumb as he is and I haven't read most of the rest. If you are interested in the HORSE games the FT tourney book is about 1/2 NLHE and the rest is mixed and was a nice intro into those games for me. Small Stakes Hold em and HPFAP are also great but limit focused and you'd probably be better off just re reading ToP and T&P.

The Poker Mindset is good if you tend to tilt or even just be overly
    depressed by a bad beat/session.

Positively Fifth street is interesting in stretches but is too slow imo and obv is not meant to improve your game.

I think I might just get HoH since I haven't read it yet & I do play the occasional donkament. It is one of those 'omg you haven't read that yet' kinda books mmmMM?

yes, although unless you're buying two I would get vol 2, vol 1 mostly just covers stuff like pot odds and pre flop hands, you probably already know most of it and it's much more fully treated in ToP anyway. Vol 2 goes into late shovament situations and at least at the time was sort of a revolution

Good to know -- I was gunna get 1, but yeah...it's probably not my early game of tournies that needs the most work.

why not get an i-pod, sell it, and use the cash to buy lots of poker books?
Also, recommend leaving it until end-July - otherwise it will affect your july FT bonus and, as you will be playing to clear this bonus, rakeback
I've got around 70k points i need to do something with...

As a b0nus, vol 2 has the end of vol 1, 'making moves' which they put in vol 2 because I guess vol 1 ended up being much longer when they got done and they wanted the two to be similar in length

Agree with Drmc on HOH Vol II. The main thing you would get out of Vol I is "M" and I am sure you know what that is.

I think the green book would make a great first poker book read by fishy mc fish fish with a short attention span & somewhat of a tolerance for numbers.

...but that could probably be said of a few books...

i liked the style in which both phil g's books were written. It's one of the only poker books that haven't sent me into a deep sleep.

Yeah I found it to be one of the most readable poker books I've read. Not the deepest in terms of information, & anyone with a clue would have little use for it, but for a first book as a n00b: not bad at all.
