Masked crusaders, working overtime, fighting crime, fighting crime. Secret raiders, who will neutralize as soon as they arrive.

same with king of the hill imo. I think the show struggled to find an audience because the humor is so much dryer than any of the other primetime cartoons. As a matter of fact I think the humor is sort of similar to seinfields in the sense that its not really punchline jokes that make the show funny and therefore its not filled with them. Its the situational humor that makes it funny and once you get that, the show can be extremely funny. I think most viewers never really grasped that and just thought "ok, wtf, this just isnt funny."

not sure if claymation is considered a cartoon, but robotchicken is pure gold.

its difficult to beat japanese anime. All time faves include DBZ, FMP, FMA, Gankutsuou, School Rumble, Black Lagoon, Prince of Tennis.

but back in the day, I used to watch DB, DBZ, DBGT (less) a lot (that shit was like a fever. everybody, even grownups, would hustle home just to catch a glimpse of Gokou beating the shit out of some dude(s)). I also enjoyed Exo Squad, but it was very short-lived. Some versions of the Transformers too, and obviously the Pink Panther.

Other than that, I did not really watch a lot of TV back then.

(Yeah that's me. I happened to write this just like a week ago... seems quite fitting now.)

However I would add this: even if we are only comparing the shows in their prime, "Seinfeld" is a little better and has better longevity for me. But it's really close. Both shows were very creative and broke new ground, and both packed in dozens of belly laughs per episode. (It's interesting though that "The Simpsons" spawned a horde of imitators, most notably "Family Guy," while "Seinfeld" spawned almost none - unless you count virtual spin-off show "Curb Your Enthusiasm." And even that is a quite different beast. A few other shows cribbed "Seinfeld"'s catchphrases and basic friends-in-the-big-city-who-refuse-to-grow-up premise, but they missed its shallow, snarky soul by a mile.)
wow man, that was a really awesome article. I really liked the sort of rambling/rant style that it carries throughout it. Also I agree with what you said, and I love giordanos . Youre from chicago I take it?
Thanks man. That's what I do.

I'm not from Chicago, but I lived there for about a year and get back there pretty often, usually once a year or so. Giordano's is always on the must-visit list. I was actually more of a Gino's East fan at the time I lived there, but since then for whatever reason I miss Giordano's more.

king of the hill does suck. it is hard to believe that the same man created beavis and butthead. speaking of which, so great.

I love King Of The Hill. The Billdozer is great and so is Dale, but i wish that Peggy, Bobby and Luanne would all die.

peggy is so great though, "HOOU-AHHH"

Bobby is pretty meh on his own, but his character produces a lot of funniness through other characters, same with luanne.

Beavis and butthead, I never really got. When I was a lot younger I thought it was funny and I remember seeing the movie and thinking it was really funny. I could be wrong but I just dont think there was any sort of depth to the show/movie and it was just the surface level retarded humor.
