anybody know if you can ever remove the sex offender tag?

I think it's impossible. I saw something on dateline or something like that about all this. They had some guy who had been with his girlfriend for like 2 years, and when they finally had sex he had turned 18...busted. Then they went on to get married as soon as she was old enough. Years later it's a happy family, kids, nice house, etc....still a registered sex offender.
